Amber Drift Creative LLC was formed in the Spring of 2019 by Joe Watrach as a way to broaden his reach and take a step forward within the live events industry.

Joe began working in the lighting industry in late 2004. He started in theatre, working as an electrician, working up to his first designs in high school. He pursued lighting design into college, attending The Theatre School at DePaul University from 2008 to 2012, earning his BFA in Lighting Design.

Leaving the educational setting, Joe turned his sights to the live event side of lighting, focusing primarily on concerts. He began working for Chicago-based Performance Lighting, working in the shop prepping shows and working on equipment. The fast pace and high energy of the concert world immediately grabbed his attention, and he has been a part of it ever since. In 2016 he moved to Los Angeles to pursue new opportunities in work and life as a whole.

Joe's passion lies in the design and execution of concerts; he loves to translate his vision from rendering to reality. He feels most at home behind a console, bringing the show to life, but loves being a part of every aspect of the industry.  He treats each production that he is a part of as though it is the largest and most important show that he has worked on. Diving head-first into each show, he devotes his time and energy to ensure the client receives the best possible production.
